Cuba has right to self-defense in case of US aggression — Cuban diplomat

UNITED NATIONS, May 17. /TASS/. Cuba enjoys the right to self-defense in the event of the United States’ armed aggression, Cuban Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ernesto Soberon Guzman told TASS.

"In the face of an armed aggression from the United States, including the fabrication of false pretexts, Cuba has the right to legitimate self-defense, which is based on the principle of international law and the United Nations Charter," he said, commenting on Axios’ report on Havana’s alleged plans to use drones against US facilities.

The Axios portal said, earlier, citing classified intelligence data, that Cuba had allegedly purchased more than 300 combat drones and was looking at using them against the US base in Guantanamo, US warships and, probably, the city of Key West in Florida.
