US redeploying troops from 1st Cavalry Division to Poland — Polish official
According to the director of Poland’s National Security Bureau Bartosz Grodecki, the US also plans to withdraw the 2nd Cavalry Regiment from Vilseck, Germany, and may redeploy it to Poland
MOSCOW, May 17. /TASS/. The US continues to increase the number of its troops stationed in Poland as the redeployment of troops from the 1st Armored Division to the eastern European nation, Bartosz Grodecki, director of Poland’s National Security Bureau, said.
"The current fluctuations in troop levels stem from the ongoing rotation of US forces in our part of Europe. The rotation is being conducted by the US 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood, Texas," he wrote on X. "To date, over 20% of the planned number of troops and about 70% of military equipment have been relocated from Fort Hood to Poland," Grodecki added.
According to him, the US also plans to withdraw the 2nd Cavalry Regiment from Vilseck, Germany, and may redeploy it to Poland. Grodecki pointed out that US personnel were stationed in Poland as part of several operations, with their number hovering around 10,000.
