Jamieson Greer described China’s approach to relations with Iran as "very pragmatic"

NEW YORK, May 15. /TASS/. China expresses interest in freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and seeks peace in the Middle East, said US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer who was part of the American delegation in Beijing.

"It’s really important for China to have the Strait of Hormuz open, no tolling, no military control, and that was clear from the meeting. So we welcome that," he said on air of Bloomberg TV.

The official described China’s approach to relations with Iran as "very pragmatic." "They want see peace in that area. President [of US Donald] Trump wants to see peace in that area. So we have a lot of confidence that they will do what they can to limit any kind of material support for Iran," he said.
