TEHRAN, April 4. /TASS/. The United States and Israel carried out at least three strikes on petrochemical companies in the special economic zone of Mahshahr in southwestern Iran, the deputy governor of Khuzestan Province reported.

"At 10:47 a.m. (07:17 a.m. GMT - TASS) three impacts and a powerful explosion occurred in the Special Petrochemical Zone of Mahshahr. According to preliminary assessments, as a result of the air attack by the American and Israeli enemy on Mahshahr, the Fajr-1, Fajr-2, Redzhal, and Amir Kabir petrochemical companies were hit," the official was quoted as saying by the Fars News Agency.

According to the deputy governor, there is a high chance of civilian casualties as a result of the attack.
