Ukraine’s attack on the Russian gas tanker Arctic Metagaz in the Mediterranean Sea indicates that the actions of Vladimir Zelensky’s administration are increasingly slipping beyond the control of Western European countries, Ralph Bosshard, a retired Swiss lieutenant colonel and former military adviser to the OSCE secretary general (2014-2020), told TASS.

The expert said there is "almost an awkward silence in Western media" regarding the incident. This is because "Ukraine has unleashed a war against oil and gas tankers at a time when supplies of oil and gas are shrinking" to the extent that even the United States has been forced to "allow supplies of Russian oil to Cuba."

"Even for Western Europeans, Zelensky’s administration is increasingly becoming an unguided missile, which, on the deck of a ship carried by the wind, turns into the infamous ‘loose cannon’ that destroys everything in its path," Bosshard said. He did not rule out that if this war expanded to Europe as a whole, Zelensky could "turn even more countries against himself" in Europe and "create a threat of a global war against commercial shipping.".
