Photos and videos suggest that the aircraft may be an F-15 fighter jet, Axios said, without specifying which Iranian media outlet released the footage it is referring to.

Earlier, Axios, citing a source, reported that the United States was conducting a search-and-rescue operation for two crew members of the downed aircraft.
