TEHRAN, April 3. /TASS/. Commander of Iran’s ground forces, General Ali Jahanshahi, commenting on US threats, promised to throw the American troops back to the period before the Stone Age in case of a ground invasion of the country, according to Iran’s Al Alam TV channel.

"We will send your soldiers not even to the Stone Age, but to the period before it," he said.

Jahanshahi added that the Iranian troops "after many years of intensive training are fully ready" to defend their country. "Iran will become a graveyard for the invaders. Try it if in doubt," he said.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the Iranian Navy and Air Force had been destroyed, and the country’s missile potential would soon be minimized. He claimed that the main objectives of the operation against the Islamic Republic were close to being achieved, and threatened Iran with sending it "into the Stone Age." On March 29, Trump did not rule out that the American army would attempt to seize the Iranian island of Kharg with its oil exports infrastructure.
