Analyst describes public support for Ukraine in US as ‘political posturing’
According to Scott Ritter, the American support for Ukraine, especially among the public, is extraordinarily superficial
MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Support for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is superficial in the US and can be described as "political posturing," former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and ex-UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter said in an interview with TASS.
"First of all, nobody’s talking about Ukraine in the United States. That's more of an important observation than maybe it appears. The support for Ukraine has always been superficial. It’s always been about putting a flag on a social media platform: ‘I support Ukraine.’ It’s really reflecting Russophobia. By supporting Ukraine, you say: ‘I hate Russia, I’m against Russia.’ So this was more about political posturing," he pointed out.
"The American support for Ukraine, especially among the public, is extraordinarily superficial," Ritter added.
Vladimir Zelensky said earlier that Patriot missile supplies had been diverted to the Middle East, while Ukraine was being forgotten.
