Egypt, Russia see eye to eye on threats from conflict around Iran — foreign minister
Badr Abdelatty emphasized that Egypt's position fully coincides with that of the Russian Federation regarding the need to find a political-diplomatic solution to this crisis
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Cairo and Moscow are of one mind when it comes to the threats posed by the conflict around Iran and call for de-escalation of the situation, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stated during a meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu.
"We fully share your assessment regarding the danger of the situation in our region, as well as the possibility of the conflict expanding, which would pose a threat not only to regional security but to global security as a whole. By order of President al-Sisi, we are making maximum efforts to achieve de-escalation of this situation," he said.
"Our position fully coincides with that of the Russian Federation regarding the need to find a political-diplomatic solution to this crisis," the top Egyptian diplomat has emphasized.
