MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Moscow doesn’t know what US President Donald Trump will do next with regard to Iran, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

TASS has compiled the key statements of the Kremlin's representative to journalists.

US plans for Iran

Russia is not sure whether US President Donald Trump wants to continue the conflict with Iran: "We do not yet know for sure whether Trump wants to continue [the conflict with Iran]."

Moscow has heard his statements about stopping hostilities immediately: "We have heard statements that he is going to stop this soon, that he has achieved his goals. We don't know what will happen in reality."

The current situation in the Middle East should be "shepherded to the peace track" as soon as possible: "This is the only way to minimize the fallout."

Continuing negotiations on Ukraine peace

Washington is a mediator in the peace process in Ukraine, but it is currently preoccupied with the situation in the Middle East: "The Americans, as the mediating country, are busy right now. They just have other problems they're dealing with now."

Contacts with the US

Independent processes in Russian-American relations are underway and will continue: "We have our own independent processes in bilateral Russian-American relations, and we will continue them."
