TUNIS, April 2. /TASS/. Iran will carefully monitor the enemy’s steps and prepare plans for counteraction in case of a ground invasion, said commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Lieutenant General Amir Hatami, as quoted by Tasnim news agency.

"It is necessary to monitor enemy movements and actions with extreme caution and accuracy every minute, as well as to develop plans at the appropriate time to counter the methods of attack that [the enemy] will adopt," he said, commenting on a possible United States’ ground operation.

On March 29, US President Donald Trump did not rule out that the US would attempt to seize the Iranian island of Kharg with its oil exports infrastructure.
