MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Iranian ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali has thanked Russia for providing humanitarian aid to Tehran and its intensive efforts to find a long-term resolution to the crisis around the republic at a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko, the Foreign Ministry said.

"There was a thorough exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, which has become seriously complicated due to the unprovoked aggression of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Jalali thanked the Russian side for the significant humanitarian assistance provided to Tehran, as well as the intensive efforts aimed at ending the bloodshed as soon as possible and reaching a sustainable long-term settlement of the crisis around Iran," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The meeting was held at the request of the Iranian diplomat.
