Iranian diplomat slams Washington's demands on Tehran as ‘irrational’

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says that the republic does not participate in direct negotiations with the US

RABAT, April 2. /TASS/. The demands made by the US administration to the Iranian authorities regarding a potential settlement of the current confrontation are irrational and do not allow for any compromise, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated.

"The US demands are irrational and do not allow for compromise," the ISNA news agency quoted the diplomat as saying. Baghaei confirmed that Tehran had indeed "received messages [from the US] through mediators including Pakistan." However, he emphasized that "there are no direct negotiations with the US."

The diplomat also noted that "the Iranian armed forces and the people of the country are ready for any future scenario."
