Official statements coming out of Tehran reflect real situation in Hormuz Strait — envoy
Iran’s authorities repeatedly state that they have decided to close the Strait of Hormuz to any ships associated with the US, Israel and the countries that supported aggression against Tehran
MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. The situation around the Strait of Hormuz is properly characterized by Tehran’s official statements, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said in an interview with TASS.
"The actual situation is reflected in statements from Iran’s government agencies," he said, when asked what the situation around the waterway was at the moment.
Iran’s authorities repeatedly state that they have decided to close the Strait of Hormuz to any ships associated with the US, Israel and the countries that supported aggression against Tehran. Since the start of the conflict, a number of tankers have been attacked for trying to pass through the waterway without Iran’s permission. On March 25, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arachchi announced that the country was allowing passage through the Strait of Hormuz to vessels from friendly countries, including Russia, India, Iraq, China and Pakistan.
