Filaret, the ex-head of breakaway Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kiev Patriarchate, died in Kiev at the age of 97, head of the dissenting Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan Epiphanius said on his page in Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta recognized as extremist in Russia).
Filaret was hospitalized in Kiev on March 9 in connection with the worsened health condition. The diagnosis was not specified.
