China, Germany sign over 10 agreements during Merz’s visit to Beijing

BEIJING, February 26. /TASS/. Chinese and German businesses signed more than 10 commercial agreements during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s official visit to China, Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian said at a briefing.
"During the visit, enterprises of the two countries reached more than 10 commercial agreements covering sectors such as automotive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, energy, logistics and finance," the spokesperson said. She added that the sides also held substantive discussions on cooperation in innovation, green energy and digitalization.
According to the ministry, on the afternoon of February 25, Chinese Vice Premier of the State Council He Lifeng met with representatives of German business circles accompanying the chancellor on the trip. At the meeting, representatives of German companies expressed confidence in the prospects of the Chinese economy and stated their readiness to further expand investment in China in order to jointly benefit from the country’s modernization opportunities.
The ministry also stressed that Beijing intends to work with Berlin to implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ leaders, strengthen dialogue on trade and economic policy, and expand areas of pragmatic cooperation amid the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan.
