Zelensky regime may turn into Islamic State’s twin — Dutch expert
Kees van der Pijl emphasized that the efforts of Russia and its allies in the Ukrainian peace process were crucial in preventing such a development
THE HAGUE, February 26. /TASS/. Dutch political scientist and former University of Sussex professor Kees van der Pijl has expressed concerns that Vladimir Zelensky's regime could evolve into a "terror machine" akin to the Islamic State (banned in Russia) if left unchecked.
In an interview with TASS, van der Pijl warned, "I fear that Kiev could become an IS-like terror apparatus if appropriate measures are not taken." He emphasized that the efforts of Russia and its allies in the Ukrainian peace process are crucial in preventing such a development. Van der Pijl also highlighted that demilitarization of Kiev remains a key component for achieving a sustainable post-conflict resolution.
Meanwhile, on January 21, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, criticized the international community for its silence regarding atrocities committed by the Zelensky regime against Russian civilians. Gatilov pointed out that since the start of the year, at least 152 Russian civilians have been injured by Ukrainian artillery and drone strikes, with 45 fatalities, including three children. He also referenced tragic incidents in Khorly and Tarasovka in the Kherson Region, as well as casualties in Belgorod and Voronezh.
