TEHRAN, February 26. /TASS/. Iran has never sought to develop a nuclear bomb, the president of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, said ahead of the third round of Geneva talks with the United States.

"The enemies insist that Iran should not seek a nuclear weapon, but we have repeatedly stated that we are not seeking a nuclear weapon," he told Iran’s public broadcaster.

In 2003, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a fatwa (a religious decree) prohibiting the production of nuclear weapons. The Iranian leadership has said on many occasions that Tehran has no intention of developing a nuclear bomb.
