Venezuela-US contradictions over Maduro's legitimacy do not hinder joint work — Rodriguez
According to Delcy Rodriguez, "diplomatic and political dialogue," as well as cooperation in the energy sector, serve as "a channel that will crush all fake news"
NEW YORK, February 13. /TASS/. Disagreements over the legitimacy of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who was kidnapped by US servicemen, do not hinder joint work between Caracas and Washington, the country’s authorized president Delcy Rodriguez said.
"Not at all. I don't consider it a difficult task," she said in an interview with NBC News in response to a journalist's question about whether opposing positions complicate Caracas' work with the US administration.
According to Rodriguez, "diplomatic and political dialogue," as well as cooperation in the energy sector, serve as "a channel that will crush all fake news."
On January 3, Washington announced a military operation in Caracas, as a result of which US servicemen captured Maduro and his wife. On January 5, they appeared before a federal court in the Southern District of New York. They are charged with involvement in drug trafficking. Neither Maduro nor his wife pleaded guilty. Rodriguez, who served as executive vice president under Maduro, is currently acting as head of state in Venezuela. The US administration has stated that Washington will temporarily take over the administration of Venezuela.
