NEW YORK, February 3. /TASS/. US entrepreneur Elon Musk has agreed with a statement that a new civil war has broken out in the United States.

"Feels like it," he wrote on X, commenting on a publication by the ZeroHedge blog titled "It's Time To Accept That Civil War 2.0 Has Already Started."

Another wave of protests erupted in Minneapolis, the capital of the US state of Minnesota, on January 24, after a border patrol officer fatally shot a man. The US Department of Homeland Security claimed the man had resisted federal agents’ attempts to disarm him. On January 7, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers searching for undocumented immigrants stopped a woman who had halted her car in the middle of a road and demanded that she get out of the vehicle. When the car started moving forward, one of the officers opened fire on the driver.

The woman later died from her injuries. These incidents caused a broad public uproar, sparking criticism from the Democratic Party and its supporters against Republican President Donald Trump and his inner circle, as well as against law enforcement officers.

Earlier, the White House deployed major forces to the city to step up detentions of illegal immigrants and tackle crime. The move triggered protests in Minneapolis against law enforcement presence and officers’ harsh actions.
