NEW YORK, February 1. /TASS/. US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker said he is optimistic about the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

"I continue to be optimistic that there will be a peace deal in place, but it's going to take both sides to agree to it," he told Fox News in an interview.
