The head of Kiev regime noted that he was not yet ready to say whether an energy truce would be reached

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Ukraine has not made any specific commitments regarding refraining from attacks on energy facilities, but is prepared to comply with such a regime on the condition of reciprocity, Vladimir Zelensky.

"There are no secrets here. There was no direct dialogue, no direct agreement on this matter (regarding an energy truce - TASS) between us and Russia," Zelensky said, answering journalists' questions.

He noted that he is not yet ready to say whether an energy truce will be reached. "If Russia does not attack our energy sector, generating segment or any other, we will not attack their energy sector. I think this is the answer the mediator of the negotiations, namely the United States, was counting on," he added.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that he personally asked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the Russian Armed Forces to cease strikes on Kiev and other Ukrainian cities for one week due to record-breaking frosts. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on reports of an energy ceasefire with Kiev.

Kiev has consistently promoted the idea of an "energy ceasefire" due to the fact that the facilities supporting its military are being successfully targeted by the Russian Armed Forces. In response, it proposes ceasing strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, while targeting only civilian and international facilities.

Moscow has previously repeatedly emphasized that it considers achieving a full-fledged peace, not a ceasefire, necessary.
