ANKARA, January 17. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has invited his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to join as a co-founder of the "Peace Council" in the Gaza Strip.

"On January 16, 2026, the US President, as founding chairman of the ‘Peace Council,’ sent a letter inviting our President to join as a co-founder of the council," the head of the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency, Burhanettin Duran, stated on social media X.
