WASHINGTON, January 5. /TASS/. The US administration wants Venezuela's elections to be held after the country has recovered, President Donald Trump stated.

"Right now, what we want to do is fix up the oil, fix up the country, bring the country back and then have elections," he told reporters aboard his presidential plane.

When asked whether Washington would seek to persuade Caracas to allow opposition representatives to return to Venezuela, Trump said: "We haven't gotten to that yet."
