Federica Mogherini was detained on Tuesday as part of an investigation into corruption in the European Union’s diplomatic service

ROME, December 3. /TASS/. Former EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who currently serves as rector of the College of Europe, was released from police custody in the early hours of Wednesday after being detained on suspicion of fraud, Italy’s AGI news agency reported.

Mogherini and Stefano Sannino, former secretary general of the European External Action Service, were detained on Tuesday as part of an investigation into corruption in the European Union’s diplomatic service.
