DUBAI, September 24. The number of people killed in Israeli strikes across various areas of the Gaza Strip has risen to 29, Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera reported.
A series of air raids on Gaza City left a total of 25 people dead, 17 of them in a tent camp for displaced persons, including children. One of the strikes also hit the Nuseirat refugee camp, where four people were killed and several others injured.
On September 16, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the start of an intensive offensive operation in Gaza City, aimed at defeating the radical Palestinian movement Hamas. The Israeli Defense Forces stated that local residents had been repeatedly warned to evacuate the combat zone.
