Mark Rutte noted that the US and some other countries said that they are against NATO membership for Ukraine
NEW YORK, August 19. /TASS/. There is an irreversible path for Ukraine into NATO but it is not currently on the agenda, the bloc’s Secretary General Mark Rutte said in an interview with Fox News.
"The situation is that the US and some other countries have said that they are against NATO membership for Ukraine. The official NATO position since the summit in 2024 is that there is an irreversible path for Ukraine into NATO. But what we are discussing here is not NATO membership. What we're discussing here is Article Five type of security guarantees for Ukraine, and what they exactly will entail will now be more specifically discussed," he said.
