WASHINGTON, August 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has held a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the Axios news website reported, citing sources.

According to the media outlet, "President Trump called Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday while <...> Vladimir Zelensky and seven European leaders were gathered in the White House."

Trump held a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky and several European leaders. The talks involved French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Trump said he planned to brief Putin on the meeting’s outcome.
