French expert describes 2014 Maidan events in Kiev as orchestrated military-style show
The Maidan events were "completely unlike" the Yellow Vests protests, expert said
MOSCOW, August 5. /TASS/. The 2014 developments on Kiev’s Maidan Square were a choreographed show based on a military model, totally different from protests such as France’s Yellow Vests, Thierry Laurent Pellet, French entrepreneur and geopolitics expert, told TASS.
Pellet spent ten years in Kiev, doing business, and personally witnessed the Maidan events in 2014.
"I can tell you now that it was all just a show organized in military fashion," he pointed out. The expert said that the Maidan events were "completely unlike" the Yellow Vests protests that he had watched for almost two years.
According to Pellet, on the Maidan, "tents emerged in just a couple of days." He also saw people "building walls more than four meters high using sandbags and other things; there also were barbed wire and a guarded checkpoint gate at the entrance to the Maidan."
The analyst said that he had taken a picture of a suspicious man with a gun on his belt and later identified him through Google as "a person named Muzychko, wanted by Interpol." "You see now what kind of people took over the square and organized it all," the expert added.
Pellet confessed that he "was really shocked by the charged atmosphere" that he could not understand. "When you see people aged 70-75, shouting on the square all through the night until two in the morning, you ask yourself where they get their energy from," he remarked.
The expert went on to say that in the wake of the Maidan events, he discussed it with a friend whose grandmother had taken part in those activities and ended up at a rehabilitation hospital with amphetamine intoxication. "Then I suddenly realized that the tea they were offering on the Maidan was laced," Pellet noted, adding that "the violence committed on the Maidan was absolutely unfathomable."
