Death toll from Israeli strikes on Iran rises to 1,062

DUBAI, July 14. /TASS/. The death toll from Israeli strikes on Iran has risen to 1,062, according to Saeed Ohadi, chairman of Iran’s Martyrs and Veterans Foundation.

"To date, we have buried 1,062 people, and another 5,800 have been wounded in the [Israeli] crimes, of whom about 100 are still hospitalized, with the condition of 34 assessed as serious," he said on Iranian state television.

Previous reports put the numbers of fatalities at 1,060 people and said more than 5,000 suffered injuries during the fighting in the Islamic republic.

Overnight into June 13, Israel started a military operation against Iran. Less than a day later, Iran carried out a retaliatory attack. Nine days later, the US entered the fray. In the small hours of June 22, US forces attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities: in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. The following evening, Tehran launched missiles toward Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US air force base in the Middle East. According to the US, there were no casualties or significant damage. Trump then said Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire, which took effect on June 24.
