Trump refuses to answer Wall Street Journal’s question about talks with Putin
US leader said: "I wouldn't tell The Wall Street Journal because I'd be wasting my time"
WASHINGTON, May 5. /TASS/.US President Donald Trump refused to answer a question from a Wall Street Journal reporter about his talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The newspaper's reporter tried to ask the head of state a question, but Trump first asked which media outlet he represented. "You people treat us so badly. The Wall Street Journal has truly gone to hell. Go ahead. It's a rotten newspaper," the US president said while speaking to the press on board his plane flying from the state of Florida to Washington.
When asked about the talks with Putin, Trump said: "I wouldn't tell The Wall Street Journal because I'd be wasting my time. There are talks but I don't want to talk to the Wall Street Journal. Look, Wall Street Journal is China-oriented, and they're really bad for this country."
On April 25, Putin and US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff met for the fourth time this year. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that the conversation lasted three hours and was "constructive and very useful.".
