NEW YORK, May 4. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has named Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as his possible successors.

"It’s far too early to say that, but I do have a vice president. JD Vance is doing a fantastic job," Trump told NBC News in an interview. "Marco [Rubio] is great."

Trump added that there are "a lot of good people" among the Republicans, who could lead the party and run for president.

Earlier, Trump said that he does not intend to be re-elected and in 2028 would pass power to "someone else, ideally a great Republican.".
