DUBAI, April 1. /TASS/. At least 34 people have been killed in different parts of the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli airstrikes, Qatar's Al Jazeera TV channel reported.

According to the TV channel, over 34 Palestinians have been killed during Israeli shelling attacks, bombing and air raids in Jabalia al-Balad, Deir al-Balah, Gaza City, Khan Yunis and settlements located nearby.

The Gaza Health Ministry reports that the death toll from Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has exceeded 50,357, 114,400 people were injured. Since March 18, 2025 when the Israeli military resumed military operations in Gaza, carrying out intensive strikes on the enclave after the expiration of the ceasefire agreement, over 1,000 people were killed in the Gaza Strip and 2,359 were injured.

On March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in Gaza, carrying out intensive strikes on the enclave and thereby breaking the ceasefire established in January. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that the move was due to Hamas’s rejection of proposals put forward by mediators and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the Israeli authorities, the goal of the operation is to ensure the release of all hostages held in Gaza. Hamas, in turn, blamed Israel and the US for the resumption of military activities.
