Putin, Trump can agree on establishing cooperative relations — ex US congressman

WASHINGTON, March 18. /TASS/. The Russian and US presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, area capable of reaching an agreement on establishing cooperative relations between their countries, Former United States Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich told TASS, commenting on today’s phone call between the two leaders.
"This is an important step in the direction of peace. President Trump and President Putin have it within their power to move away from the confrontations of the past and towards a cooperative relationship. The world will benefit from all efforts made by our two great countries in the cause of peace. The phone call as a good beginning," said Kucinich, who was a co-founder of the Congressional Russia Caucus.
During their phone call on March 18, Putin and Trump discussed the idea of a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, ways of preventing further escalations, and a number of international topics. The Russian leader supported his US counterpart’s proposal that the parties to the conflict in Ukraine refrain from targeting energy infrastructure facilities.
