Palestinian PM calls for urgent international intervention to stop Israel's attacks
"Israel's targeting of hundreds of civilians, including children, women and the elderly, as they slept in tattered makeshift shelters in Gaza, amid severe shortages of food and medicine, constitutes a crime that must be stopped immediately," Mohammad Mustafa emphasized
RABAT, March 18. /TASS/. Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa has pointed to the need for more decisive and effective international measures to stop the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.
"The horrifying scenes of the dead and injured being transported by primitive means, even with animals, underscore the urgency of stronger and more effective international action to force Israel to stop its aggression," the WAFA news agency quoted Mustafa as saying at a government meeting.
"Israel's targeting of hundreds of civilians, including children, women and the elderly, as they slept in tattered makeshift shelters in Gaza, amid severe shortages of food and medicine, constitutes a crime that must be stopped immediately," the prime minister emphasized.
"The continued Israeli aggression against Palestinian refugee camps and different governorates exposes the false pretexts of the Israeli occupation. Its real aim is to destroy the camps, their infrastructure and the very basis of life in Palestinian cities," Mustafa pointed out.
"We, as a government, will continue to shoulder our responsibilities towards the Palestinian people, in all places of their presence. We are determined to continue our efforts, despite the crimes and obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation," he concluded.
On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces reported large-scale attacks on Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the move was due to Hamas' rejection of proposals made during talks with mediators and US special envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the latest figures from the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 400 people have been killed and at least 562 injured in the latest round of escalation of tensions.
