MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Relations between Tajikistan and Russia continue to develop, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said at the start of his bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
"Tajikistan and Russia are long-standing strategic partners and allies. It is gratifying that our relations are steadily developing," Rahmon stated. He also emphasized that Russia remains Tajikistan's leading trade and economic partner, highlighting the ongoing growth of cultural and humanitarian ties. Rahmon added that he is prepared to discuss prospects for further cooperation with his Russian counterpart.
The Tajik president arrived in Moscow on March 15 for an official visit. According to the Kremlin press service, on March 17, the two leaders will discuss the development of Russia-Tajikistan relations, with a focus on trade, investment, and humanitarian cooperation. They will also participate via video link in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vladimir Mayakovsky State Russian Drama Theater and the International Educational Center for Gifted Children in Dushanbe.
