China never supplied weapons, dual-use items for fighting in Ukraine — Foreign Ministry
The Chinese authorities strongly condemn and oppose the G7 attempts to "shift responsibility" for the escalation to China, Mao Ning said
BEIJING, March 17. /TASS/. China has never supplied arms and dual-use components to the participants of the Ukraine conflict, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning stated at a briefing.
"China has always actively promoted peace and dialogue on the Ukrainian issue. The country has never provided lethal weapons to any of the parties to the conflict and strictly controlled dual-use goods," she stressed, commenting on the recent statement issued by top diplomats from the Group of Seven (G7) countries.
The Chinese authorities strongly condemn and oppose the G7 attempts to "shift responsibility" for the escalation to China, the diplomat said, adding that Beijing has already lodged solemn protests with the G7 countries as the above statement "ignores the facts and denigrates China."
Earlier, the foreign ministers of the G7 countries issued a joint statement in which they condemned the alleged "provision to Russia of military assistance" by North Korea and Iran, and the provision of "weapons and dual-use components by China." According to the statement, China is providing key assistance in the special military operation and in Ukraine and "the reconstitution of Russia’s Armed Forces."
