Spokeswoman Mao Ning said that Beijing's stance on the Ukrainian issue remains unchanged

BEIJING, March 14. /TASS/. Beijing supports a lasting peace agreement on Ukraine and is ready to promote a settlement, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

"We hope that through dialogue and talks, the parties can reach a fair, lasting, and binding peace agreement acceptable to all sides," she said at a briefing, commenting on Moscow's openness to consider proposals for a ceasefire. "China is ready, in cooperation with the international community, to continue playing a constructive role in resolving the crisis and achieving lasting peace," Mao Ning added.

The Chinese diplomat said that Beijing's stance on the Ukrainian issue remains unchanged. She recalled the four principles put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in this regard: respect for sovereignty, observance of the UN Charter, consideration of each side's concerns, and active use of peaceful methods.

On March 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference following talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that Moscow supports proposals to end hostilities in Ukraine, but they should lead to lasting peace and address the root causes of the crisis.

On March 11, US and Ukrainian delegations held talks in the Saudi city of Jeddah, resulting in a joint statement. Kiev expressed readiness to accept the White House's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, while Washington agreed to immediately resume providing intelligence and military assistance to the Kiev regime.
