Tehran has confirmed to Beijing and Moscow the peaceful nature of its nuclear developments, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu stated during a meeting in Beijing on the Iranian nuclear issue with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.
"We reaffirm the importance of maintaining the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as the cornerstone of the international nuclear non-proliferation system," Ma Zhaoxu said. "China and Russia welcome Iran's reaffirmation of the peaceful nature of its atomic field and its unwillingness to develop nuclear weapons," the vice foreign minister continued.
