According to the media outlet, the ceasefire between the parties is only a "first aid measure," but a real settlement of the Ukrainian crisis requires a systematic "treatment plan," which includes, among other things, putting into practice a new vision of security

BEIJING, March 13. /TASS/. The US and Ukrainian delegations failed to take into account Russia's territorial and security demands at the talks in Saudi Arabia, the Global Times newspaper reported.

"Analysts believe that key issues - such as the territorial and security demands of Russia and Ukraine, the effective implementation of a ceasefire, and the coordination of various interests - were not addressed in the outcomes of the recent US-Ukraine talks, rendering any future ‘real negotiations’ highly uncertain. Nevertheless, the meeting has taken a step toward breaking the deadlock and drawing all parties closer to the negotiating table. Every effort that promotes a peaceful resolution of the crisis should be supported and serves as a starting point for constructive interaction among all stakeholders," the newspaper said.

According to it, the ceasefire between the parties is only a "first aid measure," but a real settlement of the Ukrainian crisis requires a systematic "treatment plan," which includes, among other things, putting into practice a new vision of security. It envisions universal security without prioritizing the security of one side at the expense of others. "It is essential to promote and implement this new security vision in order to truly achieve long-term peace and stability on the Eurasian continent and in the world," the newspaper said.

On Tuesday, US-Ukrainian talks were held in Jeddah, after which Vladimir Zelensky's website published a joint statement. According to the statement, the two sides agreed to soon conclude a comprehensive agreement on the development of critical natural resources. The Kiev regime confirmed its readiness to accept Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in the conflict with Russia. In return, the US promised to immediately resume providing intelligence and assistance to Ukraine. In turn, Ukrainian presidential office head Andrey Yermak said after talks with the US delegation in Jeddah that a bilateral agreement on Ukrainian rare-earths will be signed when the US finds it convenient.
