DOHA, March 12. /TASS/. The foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Egypt are taking part in a meeting with US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff in Doha, the Al Arabiya TV channel reports.

According to the broadcaster, the focus of the talks is on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip following the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas. Besides, the parties are discussing issues related to the creation of a committee to govern the enclave.

The consultations also involve Hussein Al-Sheikh, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the TV channel added.

Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that the country’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had discussed a ceasefire agreement for Gaza with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister.

On Wednesday, the Qatari capital is expected to host talks between a Hamas delegation and officials from Qatar, Egypt and the US on the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said earlier that Israeli negotiators would travel to Qatar on March 10.
