HARARE, March 5. /TASS/. Mali Interim President Assimi Goita received a high-ranking Russian delegation led by Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, portal AES INFO reported.

It said the parties discussed strengthening military cooperation. Yevkurov talked about negotiations with the Mali military leadership, including the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio Camara.

The portal notes that the meeting was evidence of "the strength of the parties' relations and their common desire to deepen security cooperation in the context of the situation in the region facing complex challenges.".
