"Now all of us, and especially you, the media, are immersed in the search for the reasons," the Belarusian president said

MINSK, March 5. /TASS/. Ending the Ukraine conflict rather than focusing on who is to blame for it is a priority for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"Today, this (goal of ending the conflict - TASS) is important rather than looking for those responsible for it. Well, shall we look for those guilty for two more years until each side loses another million people, shall we? No, we shall not. We need to stop the conflict," BelTA quoted Lukashenko as saying in an interview with US blogger Mario Nawfal.

"Now all of us, and especially you, the media, are immersed in the search for the reasons. Looking for who is to blame for starting this conflict. I stand by other positions. We'll find out who's responsible later. No one can escape responsibility. We will discuss in detail and understand the reasons for this. This issue is not on the agenda today," Lukashenko added.

This is why, he said, "it is necessary to stop it (the conflict - TASS)." "And here we are on the same side with the Americans. We must do everything for this," the president said.

"Would the conflict in Ukraine have ignited if the United States, Britain, and other Western countries had not supported this war by supplying weapons to Ukraine? Would there have been no conflict? But someone needed this war. And it was only with the rise of Donald Trump that the question was put squarely - to stop the war. And he frankly said what he could do and what would happen if the war was not stopped. He is right."
