WASHINGTON, March 4. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump treats Russian leader Vladimir Putin as a partner and Vladimir Zelensky as a foe, Axios reported.

"His treatment of Putin as a partner and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as a foe has rung alarm bells for NATO allies and even some fellow Republicans," the report said. "The Moscow-friendly streak comes as he seeks to foster peace in Ukraine and better relations between nuclear-armed superpowers."

According to Axios, Trump is making moves that are aligned with Russian interests, such as the decision to suspend US military aid to Ukraine.

"Trump is also considering sanctions relief for Moscow and hinting at regime change in Kiev," the news website said.

On February 18, Trump said that Zelensky's approval rating had fallen to 4% and Ukraine needed to hold elections if Kiev wanted a seat at the negotiating table to discuss settlement. The next day, Trump called Zelensky a dictator for refusing to hold elections, again asserting that he had extremely low ratings.

On March 3, Reuters reported, citing a White House official, that Trump had issued an order to suspend all supplies of military aid to Kiev. A Pentagon spokesman confirmed this to TASS. The suspension came a few days after a blowup between Zelensky and Trump at the White House.
