MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. The suspension of US military assistance to Ukraine is pushing Kiev to capitulate, said Alexander Merezhko, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation.

"On the surface, this looks really bad. It seems like he is forcing us toward capitulation, meaning (accepting) Russia's demands," he told Reuters news agency.

On February 28, Vladimir Zelensky visited the White House. A discussion between him and US President Donald Trump quickly turned into a heated exchange, during which Trump accused Zelensky of showing disrespect toward the US, while Vice President JD Vance pointed out that Zelensky had failed to express gratitude to Washington for its support. As a result, Zelensky was asked to leave the White House. The signing of the minerals agreement between Ukraine and the United States, as well as a press conference after the talks, were canceled. Zelensky did not offer an apology for his actions or comments, stating he had not done "anything wrong."
