MINSK, February 27. /TASS/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that no one can resolve the Ukraine conflict without the participation of Kiev authorities, BelTA news agency reported on Thursday.

"I think no one is going to do it without Ukraine," the agency quoted Lukashenko as saying in an interview with American blogger Mario Nawfal.

The president of Belarus said that during his most recent talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin the latter confirmed his readiness to include Ukraine in the negotiations on laying down peace there.

"He [Putin] said that Ukrainians and [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky were offended that they were not invited to the talks in Saudi Arabia," Lukashenko said. "He added then that there was no need to call Ukraine as only issues pertaining Russia and the United States were discussed there."

The Russian and US delegations held negotiations in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on February 18 that lasted about four and a half hours. Russia was represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff participated in the discussions on behalf of the United States.

"Ukraine was hardly mentioned at those talks," Lukashenko continued. "So there was no need to invite Ukraine. [US President Donald] Trump also spoke in the same vein."

"When it is time to discuss Ukraine’s issues, I think no one is going to solve them without Ukraine," the Belarusian president added.

American top diplomat Rubio stated earlier that no formal talks on the Ukrainian conflict settlement were underway between Russia and the United States but as soon as they are underway representatives from Europe and Kiev authorities may join them later.
