Ukraine passes bill seeking to allow president to send troops to other countries

MOSCOW, February 25. /TASS/. The Ukrainian legislature passed a bill that would allow the president to send troops to other countries during martial law.
"The bill that sets norms about certain issues regarding the dispatch of Ukrainian military units to other countries during a time of martial law - 267 votes in favor," Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote on Telegram.
According to the bill, at a time of martial law, Ukrainian military units can be deployed to other countries and stay there "in order to carry out activities related to ensuring national security and defense, repelling and deterring armed aggression against Ukraine, and protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity."
A decision to send Ukrainian troops to other countries during martial law shall be made by the president, who will simultaneously submit to the parliament a bill to approve the measure. Along with such a bill, the president shall submit information about the goals, the total strength of units, the types and composition of their weapons and military equipment, their subordination, terms of deployment and so on.
