Uzbek, Russian presidents discuss growth of investment, industrial cooperation
The two countries’ leaders also shared views on issues on the global agenda and discussed upcoming events
TASHKENT, February 21. /TASS/. Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin, have discussed the growth dynamics of investment cooperation and support of industrial cooperation projects in the two countries’ regions in a telephone conversation, according to a statement released on the website of Mirziyoyev’s administration.
"Fruitful contacts and exchanges underway at various levels were rated high. Special attention was paid to ensuring the growth dynamics of trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as support of industrial cooperation projects in the two countries’ regions," the statement reads.
It also noted humanitarian interaction between the two countries. "Expansion of humanitarian interaction, first of all in the area of culture, art, science, education, including engineering skills training, in the area of healthcare and sports, was noted with great satisfaction," according to the statement.
Putin and Mirziyoyev also focused on "the results of practical implementation of agreements reached during the Russian president’s state visit to Uzbekistan last May in accordance with the roadmap greenlighted by the leaders."
The two countries’ leaders shared views on issues on the global agenda and discussed upcoming events.
On May 25-27, Putin went on a state visit to Uzbekistan. During this time, the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan held several rounds of talks and opened the first Council of Regions of the two countries. Moreover, 27 documents in a variety of areas, which Putin called a solid package, were signed.
