USAID spending on diversity agenda abroad while Americans at home 'go broke' — Musk
After Donald Trump's inauguration, USAID's work was effectively suspended
NEW YORK, February 17. /TASS/. As regular Americans struggled to pay their bills amid a weakened economy, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) agenda abroad, head of the U.S. Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), Elon Musk stated on X social network.
"USAID was funding DEI abroad while America goes broke at home," Musk wrote on X.
On February 4, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reported that USAID had allocated $1.5 million to expand racial diversity, equality, and inclusion in Serbia, $2 million to conduct gender reassignment surgeries and LGBT activism in Guatemala (LGBT is recognized as an extremist movement in Russia and is banned), $47,000 to stage a "transgender opera" in Colombia, and $32,000 to publish comics about people who have changed their gender in Peru (both the promotion of gender reassignment and the procedure itself are prohibited in Russia). After Trump's inauguration, USAID's work was effectively suspended. Trump also signed a number of executive orders, including closing all inclusion and diversity programs in federal agencies and recognizing only two genders in the US - male and female.
