MUNICH, February 16. /TASS/. The United States does not believe because of realistic considerations that the European Union should take part in peace talks for Ukraine, special envoy of the US President for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg said at the Munich Security Conference.

"I'm from a school of realism. I think that's not going to happen," Kellogg said. He added that it does not mean that EU interests "are not considered, used or developed," he noted.

The US will act as a mediator during talks and Russia and Ukraine will be two main actors, the envoy stressed.
